Hi! I'm Bambi Marr, @itsb4mbi on Instagram, and I never know what to classify myself as. I just love music and helping out the people who create it. I love photography, conceptualizing music videos, and acting in them. A lot of my focus is on art direction, and I adore putting something visually beautiful together, whether that's an album cover or an experimental sculptural piece.

How and when did you start to dive into your creativity?
I've always loved music and everytime I would listen to a song, I would imagine my own little music video for it. So in high school, I took a video production class where I filmed my own funsies version of a music video for the song "Dirty Little Secret" by All-American Rejects and I just fell in love with creating. Everything about it, from the outfits to the framing of the shots, every little detail. I eventually got my own camera and I started to do a lot of self-photoshoots where I would dress up in costumes or have impromptu photoshoots with my sister in whatever weird fun outfit I styled her in.

Talk about your favorite projects and why they’re your favorite.
I would have to say the music video for "Braces" by SEPT. It was the first time I had a whole team ready to bring my vision to life and I loved getting to work with everyone. I listened to the song and immediately knew what story I wanted to tell. If you watch it, you can see that I was inspired by one of my favorite movies, "The Virgin Suicides." But I wanted to give the girls a happier ending with this video. It has also been really rewarding to see all of the love that this video has gotten online.
What other hobbies do you enjoy?
Right now, fashion has been my current obsession. The joy I find in planning the perfect outfit for a show or an event is unmatched. I especially love finding new independent designers who create clothes that are more on the eclectic side and deviate from the clothes that we see everyday. I'll even dress up the bands I work with whenever they let me :)

I really get so much inspiration from the musically-inclined people around me. Nothing motivates and inspires me more than a great song. And because I work with mostly friends, I am often lucky to be one of the first to listen to something that they've created and when I fall in love with one of their songs, I want and NEED to make a visual aspect for their art. I will replay their song 100+ times just to perfect and refine exactly what I'm picturing.
What keeps you motivated and inspired?

Can you talk about your background? Where did you grow up?
I grew up in the I. E. where I started going to a lot of different local shows and I used to bring my camera everywhere I went and take photos for the bands, I don't really do concert photography often anymore, but I definitely got to meet a lot of friends during that time.

Any friends you’d like to shout out that have helped you on your creative journey?
I would love to shout out Jessica Moncrief, she's an absolute icon in the punk/alternative music scene. Jess has taught me so much about cameras, art and life and she is one of the most genuine people I have ever met. I also want to shout out my partner, in life and in art, Misa, getting to create with him is what brings me true happiness. And really shout out all of the SEPT boys and team, they continue to trust me with their music and they are always down to do whatever. And lastly, my sister, Shantay, she was the first person that I took photos of and she continues to support me and everything I do to this day.
Tell us about your experience creating The Offtrax cover?
Marco is one of the most talented bassists ever and one of my dearest friends, he asked me to create the album cover for the upcoming OFFTRAX Album "Bloom Like You're Expected To." and I was so happy to finally get to collaborate with him. It's a Coming-of-Age Album and we wanted to reflect the feeling of being at a party and that moment where you've maybe drank a bit too much and just feel out of place, while also incorporating little nature elements. Really, it was fun because we got a lot of our friends to hang out and talk while we decorated the room with flowers and tinsel.
What other projects do you have coming up?
I produced and acted in a music video for the song "High Garden" by SEPT, it's very "That 70s Show" meets Pop Punk and I am dying for everyone to see this video, we all became great friends by the end of that shoot and it really shows in the video.
Any advice you want to give to creatives out there?
I would say to give your art your all. Never do anything halfway when it comes to your art. We have this one life so why not put everything you have into what you’re passionate about? And also, if you can, create alongside and with the people you love.
